Limestone County Parks and Recreation department is dedicated to developing new
areas of recreation and maintaining the parks of Limestone County. The Limestone County Parks Board

members are hard working volunteers who want

board is currently working on goals and projects that will enhance the beauty
of our county and broaden recreational opportunities. We are currently in the process of
finishing our rails to trails project, which is a trail dedicated for
horseback riding, biking, and walking.
The 12 mile trail is located near Elkmont in the northern
part of the county. We also have a
public campground on the Tennessee river, a canoe trail and a two wheel bike
trail that covers over 100 miles around the county.
